Are you a D.I.Y. kind of guy/gal and dont know how to do this one perticular project...?

Well i may have the solution for you that may save you some money!

If you are working on your truck and dont have a Chiltons manual or a Haynes manual your already messed up lol... im big on torque specs, if it aint tight enough it comes apart and if its too tight its a PITA to come back apart if you ever have to do something related again...

Well as some of you may know im in the KY national guard and have access through my AKO account to all Chiltons manuals in their database from 1940 to currently newest year i have access to is 2010...

let me know what you need and i will try and find something for you, be it torque specs, reccommended service intervals, proper ohm readings for sensors and testing of the sensor, and so on...

ill try and get to your problem as soon as i can and it dont have to be a mopar product lol

Very generous offer.

Stacy, would there be any TOS issues with using a Visitor Message to start an email dialogue with Brink for folks too new to PM?

None at all. Only reason the 25 post block is in place is to prevent spammers from joining and trying to spam that way. We have had it happen way too many times! :(

touble starting cold 1995 Dodge Dakota SLT 4X4 Fuel Injected 3.9L Magnum V6

Bought the truck the other day. when warm it started up perfectly. After sitting overnight and trying to start the engine cold it sputtered and choked and the only way i could start it was to give it extra gas with the gas pedal. Even then i had to keep revving it up and it took almost 2 minutes to achieve a steady idle. Some suggestions were to put in a new gas filter and fuel injector cleaner. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong.

I will look for my haynes manual for torque specs, and fluid caps. I would go with amsoil for the brand it already has the friction mult. in it. I put in Royal Purple after a rebuild, costly mistake!!

i'm getting ready to order bushings for my truck and by bushings i'm talking control arms, front and rear sway bars and leaf springs in conjunction with ball joints and extra helper spring for the rear leaf springs. my question is this, according to my haynes manual i have to set the truck on the ground before i can tighten the leaf spring bolts, do i have to do this or can i get away with setting the rear axle on a pair of jack stands with full weight of truck there? i ask because i'm a larger guy who wont fit under the truck with the tires on the ground

p.s. thank you for the service to our nation Specialist. Brinkmeyer, wish i still had my AKO oh well win some lose some right?

I think its just to have the weight on the springs so the "suspension" is sitting at ride height, you should be fine using the jack stands just be careful when torquing up the suspension bolts that the truck doesn't rock off the stands.

Transmission help !!

Ok here is the question, I'm not a big mechanic so if I get something wrong on this please understand.
I have a 96 Dodge Dakota 4x4 318, I cant find a transmission in my area from any salvage yard and really dont have the $1500 to have it re built.
I replaced the transfer case on this from a durango ( I dont remember the year), everyone told me I can only use dakota transfer only but the Durango fits perfectly. Does anyone know if a Durango trans would fit my dakota?

just FYI, I the truck was broke down with a cracked transfer case I replaced it with the Durango case then I found out my transmission needed replaced. Just wanted to make no one thought the Durango case messed up my transmission.
Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
