I have a Dakota Club Cab LE 6 cylinder, I have recently noticed that my oil light comes on when I hit the brakes because the oil pressure gauge drops to low. As soon as I have stopped it goes back up and the light goes out.
Is your oil level to the 'full' mark? The oil pickup tube in the crankcase is at the rear of the engine, so when you brake and the oil surges toward the front, if the oil level is very low, it may leave the pickup without any oil to pick up. The other thing that may contribute (not likely but possible) is if the front end of the truck is lowered.
